Clarice Cajueiro was born in Salvador, Brazil, and currently lives between Salvador and Paris. As a child, she loved painting, drawing and making beautiful objects.

When she was 17, she studied art at the Escola de Belas Artes in Salvador, and then traveled to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to broaden her artistic horizons. While in São Paulo, she studied with some important brazilian photographers. Then while in Rio, she specialized in Social Photography at the Universidade Cândido Mendes. She arrived in Paris for the first time in 2005, where she completed a Masters degree in Visual Arts at the Université Paris 8.

She has illustrated three children's books which were written by Juliana Valverde and Edu O. The most recent book she illustrated, Abrapoema, was published in 2020 and Judite quer chorar, mas não consegue!, in 2013.  Clarice is also photographer and teacher.
